Determining Home Value

After the final home selection has become clear, the next step is to determine the value, or what other buyers have paid for a similar home in the same neighborhood. Value is determined by the following:

Sale price history: Previous home sales, or comparable sales in your neighborhood, are the best indicator. Remember to pay attention to trends in the area and any commercial encroachments.

Characteristics: Use a note book or camera to take record the number of bedrooms, the possibility of adding more bedrooms and the quality of workmanship.
